'Bollywood' enters Webster's dictionary
July 12, 2007
Merriam-Webster, the publishers of the Webster's dictionary have officially added the word "bollywood" in to their dictionary as part of the new additions for 2007.
Some other words in the ~100 adds include sudoku, smackdown, DVR and "speed dating". The last one is obviously not a word, rather a phrase, but perhaps some one at M-W liked that scene from the 40 Year Old Virgin too much. Also added was the word ginormous, which was reported voted the favorite word not in the dictionary in 2005.
